We spent the entire day on Saturday exploring Lake Tahoe. Drove up from Carson City to South Lake Tahoe and went to Emerald Bay. The bay view area was crazy busy as we were getting there around mid-day. We grabbed our customary photos and phone selfies and then drove to the nearby Eagle Falls. Another beautiful location, but many people there as well. Made a mental note to come back for a sunrise someday.
After the falls we drove back into South Lake Tahoe for some delicious burgers at Izzie’s Burger Spa… Highly recommend this little grill!
After our late lunch we drove the east side of the lake up to a location known as Bonsai Rock for the golden hour. We were up here several weeks ago but did not actually make it to the rock as we got off on the wrong trail.
Again the conditions were not optimal with too much cloud cover for a spectacular sunset. But when you are served lemons… Try to make lemonade! So I took the opportunity to take some longer exposure ethereal images.
Since this location is so close to home, I am sure I will be back to try and catch a spectacular sunset that Tahoe is known for…
