The Redwoods

Here is the last post of the Oregon coast series, although not actually in Oregon but from the Redwoods National Park in northern California…

As we continued south on the Oregon coast, the fog set in thicker and thicker, concealing most of the views. But as we entered the Redwoods National and State Parks, the fog turned out to be a blessing for photographing these fantastic old growth temperate rainforests!

Okay, time to try my skills at some more woodland photography… I was quite giddy with excitement as the conditions created a nice soft light to photograph in, and occasionally the sun would break through streaming these epic rays of light! Amazingly atmospheric!

We explored some smaller lesser known groves that we just happened upon on the Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway before taking a short hike into the popular and majestic Lady Bird Johnson Grove. I was awestruck with the lushness of these forests!

I hope you enjoy photographs of tree trunks and ferns! Wink, wink…
