Château de Chillon

Bern to Montreux
After breakfast at the hotel we took the train to Montreux with a change over in Lausanne.

To our delight, our room was ready for an early check in. We dropped our bags in the room and headed out to take a bus down to the Château de Chillon medieval castle on the shores of Lake Geneva.

Arriving at the castle, we found a little trail heading down to the shoreline of Lake Geneva. Here we had our lunch of locally baked bread, salami and cheese.

We spent all afternoon self touring the castle. It was very interactive with displays and a printed handout that provided us with the history and information on all the rooms. It was sooooo cool and the history of the site is simply intriguing! Just like something straight out of Game of Thrones!

After our time at the castle, we took a bus back up to the hotel. Jumping off to pick up supplies at the local Co-Op and find a restaurant for dinner.

Then just relaxed my aching feet for the evening.

Tomorrow off to Chamonix, France…
