Not sure why it has taken so long to start exploring the High Uintas, but this one is sure to please. The hike turned out to be a fantastic early fall adventure. We had gone up on a Friday night after work to try and beat the crowds that, for good reason, love this area. Being able to spend the night at the higher elevation helped with acclimating for our planned hike the following day. The hike itself was a beautiful one that passed by numerous lakes as it looped around and up and over a pass at a treeline elevation. It was made quite exciting by a fast moving squall that pummeled us with hail and driving rain as we made our way up over the pass. Fortunately, there was no lightning in this particular storm. Would love to get back to this area for a backpacking trip some time…
